window garden update

Of course I knew and expected that the little plants in my window would grow, but somehow it still amazes me how much they have grown in the last couple of weeks. Here you can see how little they were just a month ago. I have seen them grow day by day, and now there is a little green jungle on my windowsill.

I love how you can see the different shapes of the leaves on the fourth photo, from left to right they are sunflower, hollyhock and red chili plants. Oh, and on the second photo you can see all my tomato plants.

This week I'll be planting the first tomato plants outside on my roof garden. I have far too many tomato plants for just my garden, so I'll be giving some of my plants to family and friends. Hopefully we'll be all eating home grown tomatoes this summer!

mini garden

Today I made a small garden in front of our house. Many neighbours have one as well, what makes the streets look really cheerful and pretty. I planted hollyhocks and sunflowers. If all goes well, they will reach 2 to 2,5 meters, what means that we will even be able to see them from our bedroom window. I can't wait to be greeted by sunflowers in the morning.

window garden

For the first time in my life I have my own garden, or roof garden. I bought lots of seeds and sowed them in little greenhouses on my window sill. It is lovely to see them grow. I've got little tomato plants, red chili pepper plants, hollyhocks, sunflowers, coriander and Thai basil. Love my little window garden and soon to (hopefully) be green paradise garden.

spring flowers

Spring is finally here. The sun is shining and flowers are showing their colours. The whole city turns yellow, purple and white with daffodils and crocuses, and the hyacinths and ranunculus brighten up my living room. So happy that winter is over.

city maps

I love city maps. They make you daydream about cities you've never visited and even discover new places in your own city. I ordered these city maps at Lagom Design. They are actually gift wraps, but I decided to use them as posters instead. So my walls are now covered with the streets of Berlin, Paris, London and New York. The first three I visited in the last years, and I've been dreaming of New York for years now, hopefully we'll get there soon!

ps.  I have a secret love for all the streets, towns and counties that are called Lafayette, just because my name is in it :)

blues

^^Boogie Woogie is always checking out what I'm up to

Over the years, I really developed a (big) love for tableware. I think I got it from my mum and dad, as their kitchen cabinets are as full of lovely ceramics as mine.
Although I like tableware in any colour, I really have a weakness for blue and white ones. Last week I photographed all the blue tableware I collected over the years. As you can see, I've got quite a lot already. At first I assembled all my blue tableware. But my collection of blues is bigger than just ceramics, as you can see in the other photo's, where I also included my blue tins and plastic bowls.
